Brilliant trip to Italy for Tullow Community School Students

By Kerry Nolan, 4 Willow

From the 14th to the 17th of April, 43 students and 7 teachers from Tullow Community School travelled to Lake Garda in Italy. On the first day we visited the small town of Sirmione and after stopping for some lunch we went on a boat cruise to Garda Town. Then we made our way to the hotel for a well needed rest.

The next morning, we left the hotel bright and early to travel to Malcesine to get a cable car to the top of Monte Baldo. The views were amazing, and the cable car rotated so you could see everything. Next stop was Verona where we visited Juliet’s house and the Roman amphitheatre. After dinner at the hotel we got a coach to the Grand Mela Shopping Centre where we played bowling and went to the arcade.

We were up at 6:30 on day three to begin our journey to Venice. We got a water taxi to St. Mark’s Square where we visited St. Mark’s Basilica. After lunch we walked to the Rialto Bridge. Then we had some time to go on a gondola ride which was really enjoyable. Later that night we attended a small concert in the hotel.

On the last day we went to Gardaland themepark. The rides were amazing, and the queues were short which made it even better. There was just enough time for some last-minute shopping at the Orio shopping centre before checking-in for our flight. It was a brilliant trip and we were all sad to see it end.
