20 minutes into the first half, De la Salle got off the mark with a goal that came from a loose back pass by the Tullow defence. 15 minutes later, de la Salle added another goal to their tally. Things were not looking good for Tullow at half time as they were 2-0 down. Solid defending from Kevin Murphy kept De la Salle at bay for another few minutes. Tullow then bounced back with a goal 6 minutes into the second half that was drilled hard from outside the box by Craig Keenan. Just as a come back was looking to be on the cards for Tullow, De la Salle scored again to retain their 2 goal lead. One minute later, Craig Keenan found the back of the net again to make it 3-2, tightening up the game. The tension was building but was diffused by De la Salle when they scored again, making it 4-2. Although there were close efforts by Brian Byrne and Craig Keenan, Tullow were very unlucky not to find the net again to get back into the game. Players who impressed were Craig Keenan, Brian Byrne and Kevin Murphy.
