Welcome to the Tullow Community School Website

Tullow Community School was established in 1978 from the amalgamation of the Brigidine Convent Secondary School, the Patrician Brothers Secondary School and Tullow Vocational School. It aims to provide a comprehensive system of post-primary education open to all the children of the community. The school is co-educational and multi-denominational.

Congratulations to Leaving Cert student Sarah Birmingham

Sarah (Class: 6 Rowan) has won in her category in the UCC Law faculty essay competition, with an essay entitled“Accessto information relating to their circumstances of birth is a fundamental right of all adopted children and the law must actively support this”.

Claire Keegan Returns to Tullow Community School


Award winning writer and past pupil Claire Keegan visited the school on December 8th to speak with Sixth Years who have been studying "Foster", her "long short story" which is on the Leaving Cert English syllabus.   Claire read extracts from her book and then answered students' questions in a wide ranging Q and A session.  The workshop allowed  the students develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of the text as well as gain an insight into the author's writing process.

Team spirit alive and well at Tullow Community School.


During a recent junior schools cup semi-final against Good Council New Ross, unfortunately one of the Tullow Players (Paul Lyons) suffered a knee injury. Play continued on the other pitch, however when Paul's team mates heard that the ambulance that had come for Paul had got stuck in the mud, they asked the referee to temporarily suspend the game and all came running to help push it out.
